I like having both programs. They both have their strengths. Applied ballistics has cool features that help me tune in my bullet flight app. Bullet flight is easier to use for me in the field, especially under 1000 yards. Bullet flight is just not quite as easy to "plug and play" as applied ballistics mostly because of litz custom curves but under 1000 should be no big deal to get bulletflight dialed. It's the elr where applied shines.

I shot two animals with two shots, combined yardage 3,358 with Bullet Flight:)

Bullet Flight L3 is the simplest phone app to use IMO

Whatever app you end up with make sure you go out and VALIDATE the shit out it. Make sure you know how to use the software inside and out. I messed up on a new gadget this year, and it cost my friend a bear. Shit data in, Shit data out.

^ everything said above is true. It doesn't matter what program you use if you don't validate your data. If people think they are going to be able to take the velocity on the box and go shot 1000 yards it ain't going to happen.

I can't argue against bullet flight I used it for years. For some reason I hadn't been able to get applied ballistics to match my data but this year I got it all together. I think without litz custom curves I'd still be on bullet flight. So if litz doesn't have a custom curve for the bullet you use, I'd go bulletflight

maybe think about a kestrel 5700 elite with applied ballistics. ive validated my current load out to 1025 yards with mine and like that im reading the actual environment conditions not a weather station near to calculate my shot. i by far have not the experience of others ryan etc... but ive been hitting vertically at every distance ive shot so far with it with my hand loads, my velocity is consistant though, lots of time at a chrono single digit variations.

Applied Ballistics for the Custom Drag models hands down. G1 and G7 BC's are only good for their given velocities. Custom Drag models are custom to your rifle and load. I have only killed one game animal close to a mile, but I have killed a coyote at just over. Taken killer rocks with cold bore hits close to 3K
