I changed my entire process this year for hunting. Ditched all my top of the line flagship bows and accessories, bought the bow and setup as stated above and took the money I usually spent and put that towards fuel and days off. It has paid off tremendously and I've had so much more fun than in years past when I was chasing that social status and searching for the latest gadget that I thought would make me successful. Morale of the story is, it doesn't take the highest priced gear to make it happen. Spend what you want and spend the time in the woods learning. Hope everyone's had a great season!

By the way, I absolutely love this little single cam Bear Species. Great draw cycle, lightweight, tuned up super easy, and shoots great. I will say the stock strings have alot to be desired but that was expected. Looking forward to notching more tags with this little setup

The bigger of the two was aged at 4.5. Very big body and good bit of mass just not much length. Proud of him regardless

Awesome post. Think about how much more fun some people would have if everyone went into the woods with this kind of mindset.
BINGO! I struggled with it for so many years and I was burnt out and disgusted with it. Literally told myself, "You've been passionate and driven hunter for years. Only thing that changed is the bullcrap that you started focusing on instead of the hunt and the fellowship."

Congrats on the buck. Love how white that skull turned out. Hopefully you've invested some of that bow savings into a good grinder or those processing fees will add up on yeah. Only 9 more does to go to tag out here in GA!

Yessir, a friend of mine does the euro mounts for me. He uses beautician strength peroxide or something like that. Potent stuff Lol

I'm still using the bow I got in 2011 of of AT. I've killed a few deer with it and carried it for several miles while bow hiking in Colorado. It isn't perfect and I know more now than when I started. When I get back down to Colorado, I'll probably upgrade it to something lighter and add a different pin setup on my TommyHogg. Nice GA bucks and good eating does too.
