I’ll start out by saying, I could use a little help.
I was hunting Unit 85 up until 10/13 and then we had to head back home. Son has issues with PTSD and family comes first.
I now have the opportunity to head back out on 10/22 until the end of the season. Looking for some advice on a general unit with a chance to see a bull or legal elk.

You’ve already got time in 85, and it is a good unit. Why not go back where you know the land a little? That week you’ll be gone is a big change, just because you didn’t get it done there before means nothing.

A friend of a friend is going out this weekend and next in 13 and said I can tag along. That will cut the drive by 6 hours.
Turns out, I know his ex father in law. The Department just hired him as a inspector when I retired. Small world.

13 is a good area as well- I hunted there for a couple decades before moving to the western side of the state. Beetle kill has changed things a little, but I have friends that still do quite well there.
