Looking at a new sight for the new bow & the Axcel Landslyde Plus has piqued my interest.

Unfortunately I really like shooting a single pin, but I also really value a 4 pin setup as the majority of my hunting is in the whitetail woods.

I don’t have any experience with this sight, but was wondering if in order the single pin Axcel Landslyde, can I order just a 4-5 pin head & use the same tapes?

Would that even work?

Do you have a need for a $600 sight to hunt whitetail? I have no experience with this sight so my insight won’t help with that. My advice would be to buy a Montana Black Gold two pin vertical slider or the same thing in a SpottHog at a much cheaper price.

No comment on the Axcel Landslyde, but have you considered an Option sight? With an Option you can switch from single pin to multi-pin on the fly. The knock on Options is they’re expensive ($500+) and the fixed housing models don’t offer as much vertical travel as comparable slider sights (the Canyon Pounder model is on par with competitors in this regard).

I don’t only hunt whitetail, but living in Iowa I spend more time in the treestand than not. I’m heading to Idaho this fall, AK in 26 for caribou

Lost confidence in MBG when my brand new Pro sight was d@cked up out of the package, so I’m looking for something new

I’m looking @ the CP as well yeah.

I did really like the BG sights, especially the pin brightness

I have a Landsylde and a few other Axcel sights.

To answer your question, you can use the same tape if you’re switching between a single pin and a 4 or 5 pin. However, you will have to adjust your elevation/zero and usually have to move your sight scale when you switch scopes/pin rings because your single pin won’t be in the same position as your top pin in the multi pin configuration in your scope housing.

If you’re only switching scopes or a pin once during hunting season, it’s not big deal to get your single pin zeroed. Move the elevation up or down so you’re on 20, move the sight scale and yardage indicator to the new zero/20 - and that’s it.

*UV sights are designed and have a middle indicator so you don’t have to do this.

I shoot a 5 pin scope for hunting, and a single pin for 3D. Axcel makes an AVX 41 and 31 scopes. The 41 is bigger and is going to be better for most people for hunting and 3D, but what size scope you like is up to you.

I have two scopes for my Landslyde, one configured with 5 pins, and the other is a single pin. It’s simpler to have a dedicated scope block on the scope rods for each scope so you don’t have to measure the windage when switching scopes. *The scope blocks lock onto your scope rod, and they slide in and out of the bracket on your sight.

You can also order a single pin ring if you want to just swap out the pin, on your scope.

Yeah, that stinks to have a brand new sight messed up. Did you call or email them and try to get it taken care of? I’m just
Not a big fan of buying $600 sights when there are good sights out there for much less. Once I get something set and how I like it I don’t mess around with it. Changing scopes, sight housings, and tapes just would frustrate me to no end.

Run a landslyde on 2 of my bows. Love them both. Great sights! Great for traveling as I remove the scope when I travel and keeps everything nice and safe. I have them both outfitted with ultraview scopes. So I can pick and choose what pin orientation I want. I typically run a double single stack on both but I swap out for various occasions.

When flying this is how I orientate my sight and have my scope in a separate pouch

I’m pretty sure you can install most sight housings that utilizes the 10-32 rod onto the new Axcel tactical landslyde. Meaning you can use one you already have or buy a specific housing to match your needs and install in on their mounting bar. So you could technically get a single pin and 3-5 pin sight and still get it to work with the sight tapes on the landslyde. The same exact sight tape would also only work with both sights, if the bottom pin of your multi-pin setup is set to shoot the same distance as your single. Otherwise you would need to put extra marks on your sight tapes for the other setup.

If you like a single pin, but want the benefits of a multi pin the Option is 100% the way to go. I got a canyon pounder after wanting one since they came out, and it's great. The only downside is price (I got lucky on a used one).

Before I got the canyon pounder, (and I still do in on my 2nd bow), I used a vertical 2 pin for years. It gave me the single pin sight picture, but with the pins at 25 and 40, (and the bubble at 50), I could still gap shoot for close range hunting without having to dial.
