Is there an elegant way to attach this grab it to the loops on the frame? These center loops don't have any looplocs.

Got it, I think. Cut the center bar out of a G hook then ran the 3bar thru it.

Do you have triangle shaped common loops about midway up the frame? They should be right underneath the buckle 'connectors.'

Edit: Well, since you do. I just slip the 3-bar sliders through them. Works perfectly for me. I am probably doing It wrong though. Lol.

That looks really weak for carrying weight. I assume this is this just for 'daypack mode'?

The grabit does not attach to loops like that. There are 2 sets of square buckles on the bikini frame that accept the 3 bar sliders. One at the bottom (same place on duplex frame) and one almost half way up. Which is wear the new meat shelf goes. You are not connecting them at the right place and you should have to cut anything off.

Can you take a picture of what you are referring to with regard to the upper "square buckles?"

Ya, tonight I can. Let me look on Kifaru and see if I can get a pic. They are more rectangular plastic buckles that are attached to the pack with webbing, they have them at the bottom of all pack even the Timberline series. I will post a pic though.

Okay you see at the bottom of this duplex frame there are 2 plastic pieces attached to the pack through loops? Those are on the Bikini frame at the bottom and also half way up the pack. That is where the bottom of the grab-it attaches too with the 3 bar sliders.

I know where they are on the bottom of the frame. It's the upper area that has me puzzled.

Where are the ones halfway up? I don't see them. See my post above.

About 8 inches above the bottom horizontal stay you can see 2 black rectangular buckles? That is the highest point you could attach a grabit on a bikini.

I feel like he is WANTING the grab it position much higher in this configuration... wapatibob is a pretty seasoned dude, I think he probably knows that the bottom is where it is typically connected and he wants it to sit higher. Thus he is not installing it upside down... But I could be completely wrong.

looks to me like he found a pretty sweet way to do it.

I'll have to look if I even have them on my BT1 and T1. I have never noticed them and have always put the upper 3-bar sliders through the triangle buckles further up because it fit much better on the pack. I have carried over 80 lbs. this way a few different times with no bending of the 3-bar slider or signs of stress. I did use at least one lash strap through.

I attach the straps of the grab it to the triangular buckles on the pack to tighten down the load but the bottom 3 bar sliders of the grab it goes in the buckles pictured above.

I think I get what you were saying now. I was thinking you meant the upper straps attaching lower, obviously.

It just looks like the two upper common loops you were referring to were too wide for the lower portion of the grab-it to work. Maybe I'll have to give it a try.
