I have 42 rounds on it. Starting load development with the rifle. Only shot at 100 yards with it so far.

Tracking appears to be spot on. Zero with very few shots (e.g. measure with the reticle, then dial that and GTG). Turrets are easy to reset and zero stop as well. Glass is great and spent time getting good focus. Parallax knob numbers do not correspond at 100 yards. Want to take it out further to check more.

So far so good.

This topic is inetersting.....4-20 ATACR vs 4-16x42. The profile of the 4-16 is better for a hunting gun, but an extra 4x on top is nice.

A 4-20x42 with the 4-16 turrets would be a great seller I would have thought.

I really like the 4-20 zoom range on the Athlon Helos Gen2 I picked up for my 22LR.

I'm really surprised they didn't incorporate this feature on the 4-20, they missed an opportunity!

They’re more of a ballpark thing. parallax has a lot of variables: diopter adjustment, zoom, and even atmospherics. Parallax yardage markers on any scope are only ever going to get you in the general vicinity. If they line up perfectly it’s basically by accident.

FYI, it wasn’t an opportunity for NF as they….”borrowed”…..that locking turret design from Leupold. I don’t think you’ll see that zero lock turret on anything until/unless NF can come to some agreement with Leupold, and I wouldn’t hold my breath for that.

Now that we’re seeing these used and demo 4-20’s pop up in the low $2k range, I’m a little interested. I think the tunneling from 4x - 5x might be annoying, but I’m thinking I might want to try one out anyways.

I’d be interested if anyone be could share some thoughts compared to a true alpha (Tangent or ZCO), or maybe the S&B 3-20 or 5-20?
Where have you been seeing the 4-20 pop used/demo? This scope is on my short list and I've been looking for a demo.

I was looking at buying a 4-20 atacr but ended up going with zco 4-20. For me if you are looking for lighter/cheaper the 4-16x42 atacr is where it is at. If higher magnification is wanted just go for the zco, it is shorter lighter better turrets than the 4-20 atacr. I have never had the 4-20 atacr side by side with zco or s&b (I own both) to comment on glass or eyebox .

As an update, I used my 4-20 ATACR in the NRL Hunter match in Decorah, IA. I dialed some, held some, and probably only shot it at 20x on one or two stages. I don’t remember how low I used it, but there were a couple stages that started about 200 yards on small targets, so I did turn it down, also for field of view.

It worked great! The loose nut behind the trigger was a much bigger liability.

Happy with it so far. Just wish it was a featherly 18 ounces. Ha!
