Pretty generic question but what arrows are you all shooting? I’ve had good luck with the Sirius archery tradstars but they don’t seem all that durable. I’ve cracked 2 of them already. My grizzly sticks shoot well but they are expensive. The Easton carbon legacy arrows are pretty ok and in the 340 spine they are heavy enough for me but they also aren’t very durable.

Am I just expecting too much? Should I be cracking so many arrows? Im hoping to find something that works well and just buy a large quantity of them because it’s sucks to run out of arrows.

I thought the tradstars would be the arrow and I have more on the way but im wondering if there’s a better option. For what it’s worth im liking the 625-650 total weight.

I'm using the Carbon Legacy as well. What durability issues are you experiencing?

I've only been shooting a recurve for about a year, so take my opinions with a grain of salt, but Black Eagle Vintages have been working well for me. I haven't done any intentional torture testing, but they've survived several unintentional hard impacts. Shaft weight of a BE Vintage is about the same as Easton Carbon Legacy.

Unintentional hard impact exhibit A: snagged the bowstring on my jacket pocket while shooting in the garage tonight and buried one in the wall. No damage to the arrow...except for some ugly "Laguna green" paint (chosen by the previous owner) stubbornly stuck on the arrow shaft.

I have been shooting GT Ultralight 300s for a long time now with great results. However I do use 6-8” footings. 800-1000 grains of boneproof nastiness

Shot and still have a lot of black eagle vintages, now using black eagle instincts with the stainless outsert. They are pretty damn tough.

I started out shooting the carbon express heritage, nice weight and very durable usually coming in at 600-650 depending on tip weight. Last 3 years I have been using Easton aftermath as they are quite a bit cheaper, using a heavier h insert and extremely durable. Only time they die are from robin hoods. Even have several that have zipped through animals and are still in the shooting rotation.

Depends on what you're hitting when you crack them? If I could shoot a 31" arrow and I can't, it's too short, I would try the new ones from Victory that have the stainless steel mesh in them, they had similar before but it was extremely heavy gpi, these are still fairly heavy but manageable I feel. Then if I liked them, I'd probably buy several dozen more because these companies seem to discontinue stuff when I like it, especially if it's a really durable arrow it seems!

easton axis with the brass hit inserts and Tophat tip protectors. Haven't had a crack since I started using the tophats. I'm certain that there are better options, but I got sick of waiting for arrows to ship and I can pick up eastons at every local shop in my area.

I'm playing with Black Eagles but I seem to always drift back to my woodies. I usually use sitka spruce but am experimenting with some nice Fir shafts.

Easton Axis Trad's or Black Eagle Renegades for me. HIT inserts with the Kimsha hot melt so I can pull them out if needed.

Black eagle vintage arrows for me with brass inserts and extra weight screwed in. Great competition and hunting arrows in my opinion.

How are you cracking them? What are you hitting?

I don’t know, I honestly don’t believe I was doing anything strange with them, just shooting 3D animal targets. One of the Sirius tradstars which was brand new was throwing the nock every time I shot, I went to put the nock in and it was cracked. That particular arrow was shot less than 20 times.

I've broken a couple in the last couple of months due to the cold I think, hitting frozen ground etc. I cracked out the back end of one the other day hitting the pipe in the 3d, front end was fine but the back end cracked, been shooting that brand for several years and that's the only one I remember cracking the back end on. Possible it was mildly cracked before from a deflection or something and then the hard stop drove the nock in cracking it worse!
