This is the first year I’m building my own arrows. Ive been scratching my head trying to figure this out with the HIT insert system I want to use. Here’s what works best for my setup.…….
Carbon to carbon the arrow is 29.75”
Half out insert is 55gr
Field point is 150gr
Total up front-205gr
I’ve got the new arrows but I’m not sure where to cut them. I plan to shoot 205gr up front between the Ethics Archery HIT insert w/sleeve and broadhead. That is obviously different than a half out. What will maintain the closest spine that this “test” arrow Ive been shooting?
Should I cut the new shafts the current carbon to carbon length then install the HIT insert or cut to the length of what the half out tips out at?
