Arken VHR MOA reticle vs Maven rs1.2 SHR-MIL usability

I currently have a VHR reticle in a Arken 4-16 and find it way to thin and hard to see for actually thick dark timber hunting scenarios. I am wanting to pull the trigger on the new maven SHR-MIL reticle and wondering if anyone has any comparisons for the reticles in a actual hunting scenario

The Arken has a lit center..... Seems to work for me....

I hunt almost every day in September-October. Relying on a battery to be able to see my reticle in low light is crazy.

The posts on the SHR-MIL are bold enough for me to use in low light on low magnification. I don't have them side-by-side right now, but the SHR-MIL posts come to within 5 mrad of the center, while the VHR MIL only comes to within 9-10 mrad of center.

Have you compared the subtension specs?

Thanks for the reply, I can’t seem to find the subtension and line thickness for the VHR

Subtensions are included in one of the images of the reticles.

Thanks, any idea how thick the actual lines are in the scope? It just shows the spacing for the subtensions

The VHR diagram has all relevant subtensions, but the SHR-MIL only shows spacings. The post subtension is about the same as the VHR (0.5 mrad), but the posts on the SHR-MIL comes much closer to the center, so appear more bold on low magnification.
