Are red dots parallax free? Form what I know they are, but what about a red dot paired with a 3x magnifier, does that change anything?

No. Inside of 50’ish yards they all have some parallax. Outside of that most do, some significant. Aimpoint consistently rank at the minimum amount line.

The magnifier changes some things, but generally is a wash on parallax. Sometimes due to having a tight eyebox and FOV they can help with parallax errors.

No every optic has parallax. If you are looking at a target that is at the exact distance that the optic is collimated at then parallax will be limited or close to nothing. Red dots dont have the eye relief issues that magnified optics have but they absolutely are collimated at a particular distance and will have parallax at any distance other than that. The further you are from the collimation distance the greater the parallax.

As form is referencing a lot of red dots are collimated around 50 yards so that is where they have the least parallax.
