Are Hunting Rifles Mostly Seasonally Available?

I'm looking for my forever rifle and find lots of rifles out of stock. I checked with Winchester because their Model 70 Extreme Weather models were just not available anywhere and their response was as follows: Model 70s are fitted with Bergara barrels and we are currently having a hard time getting them. We do not anticipate any models shipping until late summer.

I look around for Tikkas and find limited availability and no availability for the Tikka Roughtech Ember model. Similarly there are no Kimber Montana rifles available.

Is this a seasonal issue: rifles mostly sell right before fall when hunting seasons are near? Or is this a supply chain issue that no one knows when might resolve?

It's not seasonal. It's all the time due to supply chain and high demand.

Know what you want and keep an eye out for them. Also, it may be better to have a local shop order (backorder) one for you if you are looking for a specific rifle.
