AR 10 6.5 Creedmoor

Just finished building this rifle for a light weight competition gun with plans to use for some hunting. So far it does well with the Hornady ELD M 120 grn and Norma Match 130 bthp both just over 1/2 MOA. It favors the lighter bullets, 120-130 much better than the 140s Using factory for now as the 6.5 is a new caliber for me so waiting on the reloading components. I think I have the competition loads worked out just need a hunting loads in those weight range for hunting deer and caribou. Recommend hunting loads??

How much does this weigh....without the rings, scope and bipod or mag....

Not sure. With everything you see in the picture it is 11.5 lbs

I really likes the Hornady 120 ELD M. Average was .55 MOA.

Nice groups! My son has expressed an interest in having an larger bore AR platform rifle for hunting up to and including Elk. I would prefer some more horsepower for that sort of thing, but weight is also an issue. 11.5 pounds with bipod is not as heavy as I thought, but not sure it would not still be too much for him to carry, even in a pack. Still mulling it over though, he has no interest in bolt guns.

It's hard to build a light weight AR 10. I used a 18" hybrid contour light/med barrel from Criterion. I was calculating how this rifle would balance when I was selecting parts and I nailed it. It balance extremely well which makes it feel lighter.
