Tick prevention for glassing sessions - ground tarp, or...?

Aside from the normal tick prevention measures, like Sawyer permethrin on clothes, long sleeves, pants tucked into socks for the uber-sexy look, etc...for long glassing sessions has anyone tried putting down a ground tarp if grassy and conducive to one?

Any other tick prevention tips when glassing for long times?

Thx

I treat my sitting pad, clothes and pack with permethrin and sit in one location for more hours than most (sometimes up to 10 or 12 hours spring bear hunting just getting up to snack, take a leak, stretch, etc.). I'm day 9 into bear hunting this year and have not have had a tick on me. I wear treated lightweight gaiters, so no tucking pants into boots. If you ever have the opportunity to watch a tick walk on an item that has been treated with permethrin, you'll see why you don't need anything more than what you have discussed.

Glass from burned areas.

Joking, not joking.

One of the reasons ticks have been increasingly problematic, is they're not seasonally burned off anymore by the naturally caused low-level fires that would sweep through fire-adapted forests almost every year. Burns seem to have little to no ticks the first year, but if you also glass from rocks (without skylining yourself), snow, or other inhospitable places for ticks, it helps. Do the opposite of what ticks are attracted to, by not posting up near animal burrows, grassy or brushy trails, etc.
