Anyone know how many points it takes to draw a Nevada jarbidge tag?

I have three points for Nevada. wanting to archery hunt the Jarbidge area. Anyone know how many points it takes for a non resident?

You can go to MonsterMuleys.com and click on draw odds. THen select non resident and go through each unit and it will tell you the draw odds. Very Simple for Nevada.

Just a heads up its Jarbidge and you say it how it is spelled. May save you a bit of trouble if you stop in town.

Nevada works on a bonus point system rather than a preference point system. With Nevada's bonus points there is no point level where someone is guaranteed a tag, your odds only get better with each point you get. Nevada squares your points and adds the current year. That means last year when you had two points you had 5 chances to draw (2 x 2) + 1. This year you will have 10 chances to draw (3 x 3) + 1. The more points you build the better your chances.

Umpqua is correct, with the bonus point system you can potentially draw anytime, but the odds get better each year. I drew the Jarbidge archery tag with 4 points in 2011, but in talking with other hunters that year, most had 8+ points when they drew the tag.

I had a great hunt. Saw a lot of elk and looked at a lot of bulls. There were a lot of 300" type bulls with some bigger. Its a really fun hunt, not much pressure at all. There was elk in almost every area I looked in, made deciding on one area to hunt a problem, but a good problem to have. I killed a nice 6-point the last week of the hunt. The rut really got going the last week and a half of the hunt. I would love to have another tag there, only 8 years left on my waiting period!

IrishID, yes, if you have 4 points, you would essentially have your name "in the hat" 17 times for that year.
