I’ve contemplated a move to ID for a while now, just curious how other sportsman like the area? I live about 6 hours south of ID falls and have lived in higher elevation mountain towns in the past.

I’m a big fan of snowmobiling as well (only hobby that comes before snowmobiling is hunting)

I grew up there (haven't lived there since about '06) and felt like we had plenty to do in the outdoors. Lot of ground you can snowmobile on (even had friends that would ride over to Alpine, WY for lunch and then ride back). I wasn't super serious into hunting at the time, but we had several friends we would elk and deer hunt with in the nearby units.

I considered moving back to IF after all my medical training finished, but at the time, couldn't find a job opening, so we landed in MT.

I live there, and outdoor activities are acceptable. The big downside now is it is being flooded with new residents, and the housing market is insane. Every farm field and vacant lot in the entire area is being developed, with many areas being filled with multiple large apartment complexes. Much of the influx is from people leaving the west coast. BYU Idaho has caused the same type of expansion in Rexburg, 25 miles away. The city has exploded in growth.

Not a horrible area. Honestly, great access to pretty much anything outdoors that you could want. Lots of areas to hunt within a reasonable distance from mountains to desert. Lakes to rivers to fish. Decent city amenities. Sledding is pretty popular around those parts. Same with UTVs and dirt biking.

Could live in worst places.
