I used to see fox squirrels around here-mostly black in color-but I haven't seen one in a few years.

The fox squirrel I named Mike (Tyson) due to the facial tattoo. The other is the only black one I've seen in the wild.

Never seen a fox squirrel in NY. Are they here? Plenty of grey's and red's,. Seen a couple black ones.

We have them here in Montana in the towns along rivers. I don't think they are native but instead migrated along the river corridors.

I might have to book an out of state hunt to find some. Seen more white squirrels than fox squirrels in the last few years.

According to most range maps, you don't have fox squirrels in NY.

We have plenty of fox squirrels in the midwest, and I've noticed that most of the squirrels I've seen in rural areas and out in the timber are fox squirrels, and most of the ones in town are grays. Not exactly sure why that is...

We also have a couple "blonde" squirrels around town, and there are several black ones in a different town 20 miles away.

Town down the road from where I grew up had a majority of white squirrels. Always seemed weird. That was the only place I have ever seen that color and there were dozens of them.
