I'm assuming I'm not the only one waiting until after shot show before buying my next hunting scope.
I'm currently leaning towards a Bushnell LRTS 4.5-18 but would love a locking elevation turret. Just curious if anyone who's going to shot show had seen anything new for the LR hunting market?

Anything from Nightforce? Specifically the SHV or NXS lines, or something applicable to hunting.

Brownells came out with a new line. Primary arms as well. Both not geared for hunters but definitely something I want to check out.

I didn't see anything that blew me away. I know there are a few mid-season releases coming. Maven being one. I am still looking for the perfect LR hunting scope. Under 25 oz with a six x mag range, locking windage, 30mm tube with over 80 MOA of adjustment and better than average glass and it obviously needs to dial and return to zero. And a true zero stop..... still waiting:)

The X5 is still my number one at this point.

You should look at the march 2.5-25x52. Doesn’t have locking windage but i love mine. Had the x5 before the march, i like the march better. It’s 24.5oz with illumination

Looking for a FFP or SFP? Personally find it difficult to find decent FFP hunting weight scopes. Would like lower minimum mag than the AMG. Looked at March but without experience, hear tracking is wanting. 3-24 is a perfect mag range for me if the glass is good, which I hear the March have great glass.

Interested to hear about the new Maven when it is ready.

I owned a March for about two days and didn't like the eyebox and was very nervous about the tracking reports. Wish I would have put it through its paces.

As for low-end magnification, I have jumped shot a few whitetails on 6 power, so I'm not too worried about the low end.

The only bad tracking i have ever heard of with the march wasn’t because it didn’t track, they used a different mil scale which was fixed years ago. Those were the earlier 3-24 models I believe.

I prefer first focal if Max zoom is over 20. Under that SFP is acceptable. I really wish that the vx6hd had more history of reliability. I know improvements were made but nobody can seem to say what those were.

I may get my hands on the new Steiner M7Xi IFS 4-28x56 soon. I'm really impressed with the technology and looking forward to running it for a while.

Why do you prefer the x5 over the nxs? The glass quality or is it something else?
