Any hands on with Big Agnes AXL Air Insulated?

The new pad from Big Agnes looks pretty great on paper. I'm worried about durability though with goat-heads and rocky areas here, and despite their claims of magical material awesomeness, a material that thin has to be limited in it's rip/puncture resistance, right?

The fact that it's an extra $50 (for the mummy) from the pad I was looking at previously gives me pause as well.

Anyone have a chance to try one out? Or an otherwise educated opinion (unlike mine, with no context to compare with)?

I have one on order. I will use it inside a borah bivey so it won’t be exposed as much as if direct ground contact. I used rei points plus a 20% to get the price right. Should be here in a couple of weeks then I can share some thoughts on it.

I have one, and have spent a couple nights on it , and more coming in the next few days.

Not sure, it is a bit loud, but really comfy. Lost a lot of air volume one night with giant temp swings ( sort of expected)

Fabric is lightweight Cordura basically which should do well, but the right rock or stick could be a problem. Not much better for the task if trying to save weight and be strong.

I'm going to try and trust it (I've had 2 air pad failures) and carry a discreet back up and be diligent. If it is air pad failure number 3 I will swear them off. Thus far, my feedback is positive, but my natural trust level is low. Hopefully time changes that.

I have one. Comfortable, and relatively warm. Though I can't speak to durability as it hasn't seen any hard use. I'd imagine it could pop in the right circumstance.

Thanks for the quick feedback guys.

Marine: that's just how I'm projecting to use it as well!

Kevin: Would you say it feels similarly durable as most of the other pads in the category? (Thermarest Xlite, Sea to Summit UL Insulated, Exped) Or does it land more on the fragile edge of the spectrum?
