Looking for crispi leads. Not enough posts for classifieds, but in desperate need of new boots. Danners don't last. Really want some crispi nevadas in 10.5, but I can't spend 350-450 on a pair of boots.

Bought used guides off a guy through another site. Thought they'd fit the same but the toe box is too tight

Look on Camofire, they’ve had crispis on there pretty regularly

Thanks. I've seen the summit on there a lot. I've read a lot of poor reviews on that model. I'll keep looking for nevadas on there

If you are complaining about tight toeboxes then Crispi is not for you.. Have you tried them on in person?

I have. I was visiting northern Utah and stopped at scheels because they have more selection that we do in Southern Utah. The nevadas felt great, which I why i felt confident buying the guys used without trying them on. They aren't too narrow. The toe box pinches on the tops of my toes there they come off the foot. I'm wondering if the owner did something to them and the leather shrank?

I wear the Nevada in an 11. One of the best boots I have owned. Crispi sometimes runs a Father's Day sale where boots are 20-25% off. They also have a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale every year in November and as I recall it was like 30% off. I realize money might be tight right now (I have been there) but, all it takes is one back country hunting trip with cold, wet feet all day long for 4 days to make you forget how much you paid for the boots. Consider it an investment rather than a cost. Wet feet can ruin a trip. Don't ask me how I know...

Thanks for the perspective. I definitely understand the value of the right gear, but sometimes it's just too much. I've been running danners. Thought danner was a "high end boot" but they don't last long and as I've gotten more into hunting I realize there are multiple tiers of quality above them. I'm just hoping to soften the blow of buy once. Thought I could limp along with the used guides. Disappointed the toe box pinches on top. Leaning towards how they were maintained more than the model of boot

Sell the guides. Open a credit card at Scheels and get $70 off on your first purchase. Bring the cash from the sale of the guides and put that down at time of purchase. Pay off the Nevada's every month until they are paid for.

Any mountaineering boot that you buy at REI or any other outdoors store is going to do just as well as a "hunting" boot like Crispi. Don't get hung up on a brand or a "hunting" boot. The needs for a mountaineering boot are no different than that of a back country hunting boot. Garmont, Scarpa and so on.. Go to a local.store and find a boot that fits your foot in the store, don't count on stretching or break in to make it fit your foot. All brands will have slightly different footbed and toe box shapes, just because boot A is the best for one person does it mean that it is the best for anyone else.

Unfortunately we don't have much selection where I live so I had to try on the crispis when I was traveling. I have always been told the guide is the same as the nevada, just taller so I was confused with the tight guide toe box when the nevadas felt good

Did you try on a Wide version of their boots to give you more room? I’ve had very good results with the Crispi wide models. I’d love to try the new Lapponias but nobody has them in stock.
