Ammo Tips being deformed in rifle from recoil

Anyone experience this issue before?

I’ve had tips from Barnes break off from extreme cold before.

Why guys use a sled is beyond me....

Your issue is the tikka magazine. Ammunition SHOULD NOT move under recoil. But it does happen pretty often.

And lose the lead sled. They do more harm than good.

Loose lips deform tips.....

Tikka mags certainly don’t have the “grab” since they are polymer and their springs are rather weak compared to others. Maybe the sled compounds the amount of “shift” of the ammo in the mag.

That group was a bit on the large size, assuming it was 100 yds.

Doesn't effect accuracy for hunting. Base of the bullet is much more important than the tip. But I can see where a guy would be upset that the tips were breaking.
