Need a lot more info to provide anything resembling a meaningful answer. Area and type of use, typical and max shot distances in use and in practice, any criteria you already have, mil vs moa, etc. is this a 22lb chassis rifle for range games or a lw hunting rifle, etc.

I don't know how the NXS and NX8 glass compare. I do have the NXS 2.5-10x42 and it is really nice glass for my purpose, which sound similar to yours

I forgot to mention that I like the 2.5-10x24 because it is 17 ounces. Not a huge deal compared to the 2.5-10x42, but it should also have more mounting flexibility due to the straight/straighter objective. The 2.5-10x42 is short and I could just barely make it work on my Win 70 long action.

The 2.5-10x42 was a no go on my 280 AI without a rail. Ended up going with the credo 2.5-15 and have really enjoyed the setup.
