The deadline getting extended worked to my advantage this year remembered an hour after it was supposed to close. After last seasons debacle I am ready to move/look forward to next season. So what did everyone else put in for? After 3 session timouts I took this crappy pic so that I could just re enter if something happened and I lost everything again.

Right on sheep I decided to stay as close to home as possible I can see each of the three areas from my house. All of the moose are within 15 minutes. The only traveling will be for bou or bison.

Oh bother, I forgot my annual donation for a bison tag. Dang nabbit this could have been "the year." Kinda don't hope to get drawn for sheep since I just agreed to a three man hunt in the Brooks.

Still falling for the RC566 game. One of these years I might actually see a legal bull moose. I did talk a couple of young coworkers into the Tier I so we will see if their personal time management skills work out this time.

That Tier I caribou hunt Ray is a sweet tag for sure....but if you are willing to hike you don't gotta lock yourself down to Unit 13 for moose and still don't gotta go up the haul road either.

I suppose but only applied for things I would go after if I won. Musk ox not able to do, same with elk can't see spending money on black or brown bear with the opportunities around me. Mountain goat...yeah I prob could have done one of those.

Ray I heard from a reliable source it was your year for bison.

yeah I didn't apply for elk either....I thikn you could fly down and hunt lower 48 rocky mountain elk for cheaper than hunting Roosevelts in Alaska.

Sheep, goat, Brown bear for me,

I put in for fall Kodiak for the bear, as a backup for my spring hunt. A friend and I are taking his Cub down the Peninsula, for spring bear.
Both of us have gotten several bears with our revolvers, but none of them huge!! We figured a Peninsula trip was in order to fix that!!

This fall season was a wash for me on everything I had planned!! Two close friends died within a couple of months of each other, and our
daughter came very close to death. She was in a coma for two days, (she has a very aggressive form of MS)

I hope to make up for this year, by doing as much as possible in 2014!!

I need to say to all of you folks that as you get up in years, (62 for me) you will loose more and more family and friends,
The point being, please hunt every chance you get, and value the time you spend with friends and family!!

F&G got a good chunk of my money too. I've never drawn a really good tag in my life... but this year my luck might change! right? I've got my hopes pinned on a couple of goat units I really want to hunt and already have some rams picked out if I win my preferred sheep tag. Also put in for Farewell Bison. Although the logistics are very challenging for that unit, I have a bit of an inside track out there and cross my fingers every year. 60x, is it safe to say you put in for that area also?

Yk

I actually didn't put in for that farewell hunt with the new baby and all..although I will write up a story on a hunt there when I get some time. It is with out a doubt my favorite hunt in alaska for many reasons. I'm pullin for you YK ...

Rad an all Alaskan thread! I put in for the usual, 3 sheep, 2 goat, 3 caribou. And 1 elk. All very doable and committed if I draw any of the above. Sure I limit my odds by doing it that way but if I draw I know I can get after it. Good luck to all you guys, hope you draw everything you put in for, unless we're in a you or me scenario... Merry Christmas.

I have been thinking about branching out for caribou by using the registration permit system. Seeing more country to the east. I have been kind of lazy about driving all the way over there, but then I did the math for the Denali milage and time. Turns out I am not that good at math.

Now with the PR 49 and some bad ideas I might get some Unit 13 moose action next year. Hiking trip in July to test out how bad the idea is.

I'm doing my moose area recon in unit 13 via packraft in June! Not that my current area there isn't productive...but more knowledge of areas the better. Hope you find a sweet area with lots of moose and very little pressure.
