Thinking about running a suppressor on my 6.5 creedmoor with a 24" barrel 5/8x24 threads.

The first time you shoot it. It will be amazing. Then you carry it ONCE and start looking for a smith to cut and thread it to 18”. There is NO can you can add that won’t make you want to shorten the barrel. The same day you order your can send the rifle to your smith to cut and thread. The $200 additional for the cut job will be so worth it when you Don’t hit the can on every tree during the hunt.

I would consider a TBAC Ultra 7 G2. I have one and it moves between 4 different 6.5 creeds.
Avoid the Ultra 5 unless you want to wear ear protection while hunting. The ultra 5 is a range only can for me.

I have two recommendations

Go direct thread. Not a QD style mount. Those little muzzle devices get exspensive! An they have to be timed.
Next go titanium. Buy once cry once

I'm the opposite, I thought about buying one of the OG suppressors on initial release but don't want direct thread only. I use the Area419 attachment system and nothing has to be timed. I have HUB cans, TBAC CB cans, all on the same adapter.

If I were the OP I'd take a look at the Nomad Ti XC, The Mangus S, or Magnus K-RR/Abel Theorem S with the brake. I have my Theorem S on order, already have all the others listed. I use my S-RR on my 6.5CM now but wanted to try the same suppression in a shorter lighter package on the end of the barrel, so went with the Theorem S.

Roughly 22” overall length will still balance nicely with a light enough CAN on a Tikka.

A roughtec with the D18 profile barrel and a can sticking off the end of a 24” barrel sucks to shoot.

If you want to keep the barrel length the same, then you probably want a suppressor that will extend no more than 4” longer. To me that means the AB Raptor in a reflex configuration or the OG. You will have to look at the characteristics of each suppressor to find the right one. I do recommend finding a titanium can for hunting use.

I second the recommendation to keep it direct thread. Unless you need to be able to remove it to put on a bayonet, I don’t think a QD mount is very useful.

if this is for hunting, get a titanium can
if it's just for shooting, get a less expensive non-titanium can
and eventually, get it cut down to 18"
and just keep it direct thread
no recommendation on which particular model, i'll leave that rabbit hole up to others

Yeah I was thinking that might be the case.
