Hey guys, just looking to get some opinions on pants. I am looking hard into the kuiu chinooks but haven't read a lot of reviews on them. I have able understanding of the attacks but it remains a mystery on the others. Looking for a pant for sept elk in Montana. Thanks

First lite couragates. Go read my review on their website. I just wrote it. Name on the review is TL. I've had them for almost a year and beat the crap out of them. They're awesome.

Corrugates are pretty awesome. And near waterproof. They are amazing

Chinooks in sept probably too warm. There were a few days in late sept last year i could of wore them but overall and early hotter weather they will be too hot I would think.

Attacks are best all around pants to me. Very versatile and comfy if any negative they can be a hair warm

Look at alpines similar to chinooks but cooler. I like the chinooks but don't like the fit on the alpines.

I'm also a huge tiburons fan for hot hunts.

If you don't have to have Camo the prana stretch zions are pretty awesome and can be found for around $50 most of the time.

Have to go with the attacks. They are the most comfortable and well designed hunting pant I have ever worn. Outstanding.

Happy with my Kuiu Tetons. Light and good for early season hunts. Priced right. If you get cold just add a pair of botton base layers, I use Kuiu Merino zip offs.

+1 on First Lite pants. I have Kanab 1.0s, at least 4 years old and going strong, despite my best efforts to destroy them. Not the perfect pant, but really close. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Attack pant, but I love how well the merino resists nasty mountain climb BO on a multi-day hunt. Synthetic pants just can't do that. The Kanabs breathe fairly well, keep you warm when wet, dry quickly, are silent, you can roll them up when it is super hot, etc. Worst part about buying FL gear is availability.

I agree on the First Lite Corrugate pants...Sitka Ascent pants kick butt too, especially for warm to hot weather!

I use Tiburon's in Colorado September and attacks in October and later. Tiburon's are much cooler.

Another vote for the Kuiu Alpines. Great pants with a lot of features. I own the Chinooks too and I love those pants but I wear them later in the year. Attacks are nice but I like the knee pads, all zippered pockets, and material of the Alpines. I feel they're more versatile too because they're not brushed on the inside like the Attacks so they are a little better in warm weather and then you just layer under them for cooler weather.

I made the switch to solid color pants this year. I picked up a pair of Outdoor Research Ferrosi pants and a pair of Prana Zions. Both are fantastic. They are built for rock climbing so they're built to stretch and take a beating. They're also pretty quiet, I love them so far.

I didn't like the knee pads in the Chinook, they rubbed and made my knees sweat. I actually like the cheap Teton pants for early season, guide pants later.
