Accurate digital scales

I've got an RCBS charge master lite. I'd like to know if there's a digital scale I can use to double check my charges. Something easier than the old school balance beam.

Before I go and just drop $600 on that Cadillac powder dispenser.

Get a set of calibration weights off amazon and just use a small one. Or just use the weight that came with the chargemaster.

My balance beam seems more sensitive ( precise?) than the RCBS Chargemaster.

Am I wrong?

That's what Avery was telling me. Said the charge masters aren't that accurate. I know a small variance in charge weight won't have a huge effect on large sample results. But it would be good to know if something is off.

I get better results with my Chargemaster 1500 than I ever did with a beam scale. GemPro250 is a good one to check your current setup.

I know that the beam will show a difference with one kernel of XBR 8208 when it may take a few to show a difference on the electronic scale. Can't say I know exactly how many kernels equals 0.1 grains as i haven't carefully checked that specifically but that does tell me it's more sensitive.

The fx120i is accurate to the hundredths place......and it's repeatable. I tried to beat it with two 1010's, a Redding and a the new rcbs m1000......it can't be done.

It's expensive, but it saves me time and that's more expensive.

I haven't checked mine again the RCBS Chargemaster but my beam is 1 kernel of Varget sensitive and damn near 1 kernel of 8208xbr sensitive. If I hook up my magnifier to really zoom in, you can see it slighly move with 1 kernel of 8208xbr. Thats good enough for me.

Varget/H4350 is usually 0.02 Grains per kernel and XBR has smaller kernels so yeah, it's going to resolve finer differences than on 0.1 electronic scale.

That said, Ive read countless negative posts on chargemaster accuracy but the Chargemaster 1500 i've had for over a decade that moved across the country half a dozen times with me has checked out very well when I've checked it's charges on my fx120i. If i'm in a hurry i'll run it at the same time as my autotrickler to speed up the charging process.

I have a Chargemaster Supreme. I run the to .2gr under the weight I want then top up with the TRX-925 and a Dandy Trickler. Doesn't add any time as the top up takes less time than the Chargemaster does to drop a new measure. The Chargemaster has a consistent range of .1 under to .1 over with occasional throws outside of that range. Very occasionally will it hit spot on.

My accuracy in throws has gone from +/- .1 to +/- .01. However in reality its probably meaningless on the target. But it makes me feel better!

Has anyone figured out how to put an fx120i or similarly accurate scale into a singular self contained unit with a powder hopper and dispenser yet? I don’t like Rube Goldberg frankencontraptions.

The RCBS Matchmaster is the best I’ve found yet. A tremendous improvement over the Chargemaster.
