So, I thought I had well decided on a Ridgeline... but the more I think about it the more I’d like to buy something that’s more LR centric, and those adjustable stocks are looking so sexy.

I’m sticking with 300wm.

I considered the ELR, but it’s a bit over my budget and more than I’d want to spend on a factory rifle. At that price I’d just pony up a couple hundred more and go custom.

The Mesa LR is almost 10lbs by itself, and I’d like this to be at or under 10 if possible.

I considered restocking the Ridgeline, but again, brings me in over budget.

Browning LR Max looks cool, but I haven’t been able to see any real world reviews on the rifle and stock... if you know of one please point me to it!

I don’t know much about the Bergara HMR.

Tikka, yeah they’re cool but I’d have to restock and rebarrel it because the 300 twist rate sucks for heavies. Not to mention mag length concerns.

Anything else I’m overlooking?

Edit: want to add that most of the scopes I’m looking at are ~24oz.

Everything in the below list is a rough estimate of weight and cost.

1. Carbon fiber barrel ~ $900. Weight ~ 3lb.
2. Rem 700 or Tikka action ~ $350. Weight ~ 2.75lb.
3. KRG Bravo stock ~ $375. Weight ~ 3lbs.
4. Trigger Tech trigger ~ $200. Weight - negligible.
5. Gunsmithing fees - not really sure, but assume $500 for barrel reaming and install.

Total ~ $2,325. Could be much less if you wait for items to go on sale or show up in classifieds.

Alternatively, buy a Christensen Arms MPR in .300WM for $2,395.

Personally, with your budget I'd get the CA MPR and be done with it. You say $2,000+ stretches your budget. If so, I suggest saving money for a few months and get something you actually want instead of settling for something that is just good enough.

That’s just it - I don’t really know exactly what I want yet... which is why I’m trying to see if there are any options I’m overlooking and researching as much as I can.

I just don’t want to buy a rifle I’m not going to shoot or hunt with.

I'll share my build with you but it is a good bit over your budget. Might help you with general ideas though.

Bighorn SR3 Action
Manners EH5A Stock
Badger BDL Bottom Metal
Trigger Tech Special
22" CF Proof in 300WM
NF Ultralite Rings
March 3-24 Scope

It comes in right around 10lbs without a bipod(I shoot solely off my tripod while hunting)

The other rifle is an almost identical build and weight.

I ended buying one of the X-Bolt LR McMillan rifles, and putting a kydex cheek piece on it. I've hangled the new X-Bolt Max, and it is a lot of gun for the money, but noticeably heavier than the McMillan version and the stock has a cheapy feel to it.

Wait a year and save another thousand or so and get the Mega Fix by Q in 300 WM when it comes out. It'll def be long range capable and will be well under 10 lbs scoped

I think I'd lean towards a Seekins Havak with your criteria, better stock and a little more room to play with in the DBM versus CA's BDL

I would try and find a custom builder and see what they can do for you. I am having a rifle built by Mike at Hells Canyon Armory. Great guy to deal with.

If you decide not to, I would look at the offering from fierce. I have a fury in 7mm rem mag. I haven’t weighed with everything on it, but if you are curious, I’ll weigh it when I get home.
