I came across this and thought it was interesting. I read in a thread I think yesterday where someone was looking for a way to carry binos without having them hang on his chest in any fashion. While I don't know if this is for me, it would be a different way to carry them on your pack straps or on your belt. Plus, the bino adapter threads right onto a tripod.

I do use the clip system to carry my DSLR around and it works great. I have also played around a little with mounting the GoPro on it as well and I think they now sell and adapter for that too. Anyway, just thought I would share.

It's pretty secure. I've never had an issue carrying my DSLR from a pack shoulder strap but I can't say that I have been out crawling on shale either. The regular push button release on mine does quite well and there is a locking thumb screw that prevents release in case you need to engage that. With all of that said, I always have their leash (just a long strap) around my neck as a backup. Not only does that provide some piece of mind but it is also there in case I should drop the phone when it isn't in the clip.

I'd love a camera shell like that one in a modern camo style and big enough to fit a 70-200 telephone. Been dray dreaming about one lately while hiking with my camera in the rain/wet forest.

I have used a tactical Taylor pouch to carry my binos on my pack hip belp for awhile. I only just recently started using a fhf chest pack. The only thing negative about it being on your pack is when you drop your pack you have to figure out a way to carry all your stuff
