I am very close to getting a ragged hole out of a 6.5 PRC and 156 Berger, but just not there. I can get great hole out of ELDX 143 grain and H1000 with 58.8. It goes approximately 3100 feet per second. I have not personally shot anything with ELDX at that speed. Some I trust don’t recommend greater than 3,000 fps with that bullet. Honestly, I would still give it a go at that speed.

I am just wondering what powder or combo has worked with you and the 156 Berger. I am touching the lands, which is pretty much where all my VLDs shoot well out of my rifles. Any suggestions an load data appreciated. I have looked at what is on line in the past, just looking for an update.

I would really consider 4831sc I get great velocity and accuracy with it, a buddy of mine that helped me work up the load has given it to a handful of others and it just seems to work. Lapua or ADG brass both shoot the same for me half of my brass is ADG the other half is lapua, large primers (not magnum). Obviously start lower and work up but like
I responded in the other thread I think I ended at 54g I will Check my notes when I’m back home. Seating depth didn’t matter on my gun I loaded up some to fit short action mags and ultimately seated out further since I’m using a tikka action and have the room and both shot about the same.

I’m getting .34” 5 shot groups with the 156 loaded about 80thou to jam, oal 3.085. 57.5gr h1000 at 2770fps 22” tikka barrel. Been slapping steel out to 1200 with this.
