I went with Zeiss Conquest HD. They were at the top of my budget. I love them.

It would take twice the money to get into Swaro. That would be the best.

I was doing the same research a month ago. I was originally looking at 8x32's but after I read this review, it was pretty easy to move to the 8x42's. I found a guy selling a pair of lightly used Leica Ultravid HD plus 8x42's after reading the review he sent me (which I'll post here.) I've got the set and they are the most incredible binos I've looked through. Now to be honest I havent compared them to a swaro or zeiss of the same power, but I love them. They look classy too. Anyways, read this review, it's very in depth.

Interesting review and the first time I've seen SLC at the bottom of the barrel in a review

I recently purchased a pair of Zeiss Conquest 8x42's and they are awesome! I also have a pair of Cabelas/Meopta 10x42's (non HD) and the Zeiss are noticeably sharper and clearer. In fact- I will gladly exchange the minor loss of magnification for the sharper image. The Zeiss may not be the best, but they are more than adequate for me. Especially at the price.

my brother just picked up Leupold® Mojave HD Pro Guides in 8x42.spent some time behind these last couple weeks and was blown away. i once believed you needed to spend over 1000$ to get serious but these things can pick out critters in thick dark brush all day long.

I love my Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42. Checkout Redhawk rifles to see if they have any demos left! I got mine for $699 a few months ago.
