7 Day Spring Bear Hunt

I am going on a 7 day spring bear hunt and I am in the process of picking a pack. Considering the SG Sky Talus 6900 or the IA8K from Initial Ascent. Does anyone have any experience with these packs or have any other recommendations?

I've never used an Initial Ascent but I've had very good to great experience with EXO, Kifaru and Stone Glacier.

How do you plan to hunt? What pack are you using now? Will it be cold/snowy?

It will be in Idaho so yes probably cold and snowy. We will be backpacking into a wilderness area. This will be my first true backpack hunt so I don’t have a pack right now.

Size wise either of those packs will do. Make
sure you pack smart within your group… you don’t need everyone to have their own stove, pot, fuel, tent, etc if you’re trying to save weight. IA looks to have a bunch of pockets and organization compared to most SG packs. Decide how you think you want to hunt once you get to your spot and choose the pack that meets those needs.
