I've got a pound of MR 2000 and some 154gr sst's I want to load up and try. I can't find any specific data so if you have any experience with MR 2000 please share. I've posted on the 24hr fire and longrange and got crickets. Before I drop 43 grs of MR 2000 under some 154 sst's and see if they hold together I thought I would try here also.

I've been looking at some loads on the net for other chamberings and bullet weights and it looks promising for the 7-08 with a 154 to 160 bullet weight range. If I can get 2800 fps out of my 7-08 with the 154 sst's then I would have over 2000 fps and 1500ftlbs of energy at 500 yards and a hair over 40" drop. That makes it potent medicine for elk to 500 yards. I just want it as a backup to my 7mm wsm . I looked up the alliant powder reloading guide and got loads for 145 gr speers at 43.3 gr and 162 Amax at 42 gr. Since every guide I've ever seen has pond water weak loads listed I feel safe starting with 43grs behind a 154 sst. In fact , I just got home early and I think I'll throw some together and see how they do this weekend.

If I hit 2900 fps I will be ecstatic ! My access to a chronometer has passed away and I haven't bought my own yet. Many wants and not so many gots :( . I'm going to see how the pressure and accuracy work out and then I'll have to shoot them at longer range and use zero and drop to calculate the velocity. Not an ideal way but it will get me close . I think 2825 fps to 2850 fps is a realistic velocity to achieve but it's really a wag . Not much private load info out there and the company results are going to be timid for liability reasons.
