6mm or 22 Cal?

Do you hunt Colorado? Cause that eliminates the 22 cal options.

I wouldn't put a stockys on my gun even if it were free. My sample size of 2 both were returned due to very thin and cheap butt ends, I hated those things! Their customer service is top notch though so credit to them for that!

Honestly I've been really happy with just the CTR stock. Not sure on the weight exactly, but I know it's lighter than the Bravo and maybe a couple ounces more than the stocky's. This gun is right at 10lbs with a full 10 round mag. 22cm, but I'd do the same setup in 6cm if I needed 243 or bigger.

I’d pick a tikka 6arc (since that’s what I’m doing already) and a krg bravo since that’s all I’m left with now but will consider a factory stock with an aics bottom metal

• Tikka action, because... well... Tikka...
• 3-9 SWFA because simplicity. Downside is lack of immediate available
• I voted KRG Bravo, but I like what @id_jon mentioned above. A CTR takeoff stock is an often overlooked amazing option IMO. Every necessary small ergonomic improvement needed from the standard T3X stock while keeping price down.

Yes. There is a small gap in the inlet, but it's still rock solid.

It can, it'll just have a gap. I actually recall coming across a photo somewhere on here where a guy had done that with his CTR stock. It had about a 3/16" gap on the left and right side of the bottom metal that tapers down when you get closer to the action screws.

I bet you could install it and then go back in with bondo or epoxy and fill in the gaps and then paint the stock. Might make for a fun little project.

How long of a barrel are you planning on using.

I’d go 6 creed if it’s in that 18-20” range.

16” with a 22 creed.

Keeps that bullet starting at a decent velocity without stepping too hard on the gas.

Found you one! Even comes with the bottom metal and two mags. It's just an old school T3 version, so no interchangeable grip, but it's got a permanent vertical grip on it if I remember correctly?

Also, there's a guy out of central Utah who runs "Nielsen Custom Rifles." He buys brand new Tikkas, tears them apart, and sells the factory parts he's not gonna use for cheap. Might be worth a call to him to see if he has any of the CTR stocks laying around that he would part with.

The CTR stock is a good option I have considered also. I am going to suppress the rifle so I am looking at an 18-20” barrel. It seems like the 6 Creed is the front runner. I do plan on taking my kids to Colorado Elk hunts so that favors the 6 Creed.

The other option is a takeoff stock from a Varmint model if you wanna run the standard Tikka mags. All the same accoutrement as the CTR (cheek riser, grip, fore end, etc.), but takes a standard Tikka bottom metal. Just another consideration for you gents.
