Anybody care to chime in on 6 Creed throat and COAL dimensions?

Recently purchased a Tikka 6mm CM that was built by a reputable smith in Denver. Went to start load dev tonight and couldn’t quite believe my eyes as I ended up having to seat 108 ELDM down to 2.700” to get off the lands, as I know factory 108s are closer to 2.79”.

115 DTAC NR ended up around 2.795” just barely be off the lands which made more sense to me.

Wondering if this chamber was potentially cut with a non-SAAMI reamer.

Thanks all.

same issue with a carbon 6 barrel I have and the 108’s. Just ordered a new barrel from UM that hopefully will work with them and the 112 MB’s. Seems like the ogjve is farther forward in the 108’s than other bullets, but I am just learning about all of this so who knows.

SAAMI spec has a healthy freebore. When 6 creedmoor came on the scene and was the most popular cartridge amongst top prs shooters most were shooting 105 hybrids. 105 hybrids have a pretty short bearing surface compared to 108 ELDs so a lot of reamers were made accordingly with a shorter freebore.

I had to send a 6 creed barrel back to a smith that told me his reamer was saami but factory ammo jammed in the lands. Turns out his reamer wasn’t saami. Even after he throated it out it was a little too tight for some factory ammo.
