Was hoping to see a thread unique to the 6-7 PRC, and it was suggested that we start one. So…. here we go: My 6-7 PRC was built by Unknown Munitions on the Bat, Vesper action with a 20” carbon barrel & 7.5 twist. Early on I was infatuated by the Rokstok concept, and while I did wait over a year for it, it was certainly worth the wait! Blaine at UM was a huge help in guiding me through nearly every aspect of the build, and he himself did the test firing, sent me the fire-forming data, and a handful of the original fire-formed brass. I’ve taken the fire-forming slow, and at this point have 60 Peterson 7 PRC cases resized down to 6mm and fire-formed, using 65.5 grains of N570. (At Blaine’s suggestion.). The gong photo included was fired at 600 yards while fire-forming. Nothing great, but considering the wind and the fact I was forming the original brass, I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve now taken it up to 67.5 grain with a few once-fired cases. Velocities are very consistent in the 3230’s, and easily under 1 MOA @ 200 yards. I’m sure there’s a lot more speed in there, but I’m just not sure how much more I need? I should also add that GoatPacker on this forum has been very helpful with sharing his experiences, starting data, trim lengths, etc. I’m taking my grandson to Wyoming in late September on his very first antelope hunt, (I also have a tag) and I’m excited to see just how the 115 gain DTAC’s handle the job. I hope others will join in and share their experiences, suggestions, and knowledge.
