So I'm silly and wanted to build an all purpose AR that I could use from deer/antelope hunting down to just being cheap on ammo at the range. I wanted to keep weight down so I did a lot of research to find lightweight and yet reliable parts. So I thought it might be nice to share some of my research. With the muzzle brake instead of suppressor it's at 126 OZ unloaded with optic. Tried to use as many parts from Idaho as possible or at least in the area.

Not silly at all. I run an 18” Grendel for everything less than elk here in AZ.
Primarily coyote gun, but it’ll do deer to 500.

Sweet build... keep us posted on how it shoots. Been monkeying around with loads for mine and only have one bullet that’ll shoot under a MOA.

Nice build👍
nothing silly, i’ve used an 18” grendel last four years and have no complaints.
7.75 lbs.
I dont use a brake though, a tad too long for me for hunting

I'm glad to hear there are other grendel users. When I was first breaking it in and tuning the gas block. It seemed like it could do MOA. I was leaning over the hood on a windy day so that's why it's not a definite yes to MOA. I also want to note that my suppressor that I normally run is 18 OZ. I know its heavy but it was my first Form 1 suppressor and I was limited on tooling. But heavy can on 18" barrel is so much easier that a 24" barrel!

This my three shot group at 100yds with my 16” Grendel, shot off bipod and using my omega suppressor. I’ve taken my Grendel out to 740yds with no issues. With that being said, I won’t take a shot on an animal that far with it, but I also wouldn’t take that shot on an animal with any rifle. 03FF58C9-7247-4726-98EE-A0ADFEC3DE32.jpeg
