.308 168gr TTSX says 1:11 or faster. My Winchester EW is 1:12. Should I avoid?

I’ve been buying a variety of bullets to try, and just realized my twist rate is outside of the recommended spec.

Has anyone had any luck with these 168gr TTSX with a 1:12 twist? Or should I avoid using these and find some 150’s?

I’d just shoot a 150, or even 130. Those things perform well with speed.

Absolutely on elk. I’ve shot a couple bulls (and a variety of other critters) with a 160 TTSX from a 338 Federal and to this day they are the best performing, most consistently good performing bullet. Just keep the impact velocity up. With that, I’ll caveat that I wouldn‘t use them for long range. For that I load 155 Scenars in my .308.

30 caliber 130 gr TTSX is a terror from an '06. Elk, deer and pronghorn have succumbed to it in the hands of my adult son.

Pretty much the same would apply to a .308 Win.
