30'06 AI?

Kicking this one around. Seems like a very capable cartridge and cool to boot.

180 grain at 3000, and a tremendouse choice of bullets in 30 cal. Also have the option of shooting factory '06 ammo if you were in a pinch.

Anyone played around with one?

I shoot a regular 30-06, but checkout the Berger 185 grain target hybrid. It's an exceptional bullet. I am pushing it at 2750 FPS and it has some serious downrange capabilities.

I've built 3 of them. You won't get 3000 with a 180. 2900-2950 is the best you can expect with any sort of case life. I prefer a 200 at 2800fps out of them. Burn rate powder in the RL22 to RL25 range have worked best.
