Not finding accuracy. I’m not a hand loader, I am stuck to just running factory ammunitions. I have ran through a couple boxes of Hornady Precision Hunter in the 215 grain ELDX and just not 100% happy with the accuracy results. Is anyone else out there having better luck with something else?

What is your accuracy guarantee ?

Beyond MOA Guarantee

  • Ask not what your rifle can do for you, ask [yourself] what you can do with your rifle.
  • A gun is only as innovative as the manufacturer, accurate as the optics, and reliable as the shooter. We hold up our end of the deal, and wholeheartedly guarantee that this rifle will suit your needs as a sportsman.
  • We refuse to lump our customers into a singular category guaranteeing them 1/2 MOA at 100 yards. The way we look at it, you can’t put a price on accuracy. We recognize and have considered that each of our customer’s demands are unique, and therefore refuse to send a cookie-cutter guarantee out with each new rifle. So long as it’s a Seekins rifle, unrivaled innovation and out of the box precision is our assurance.
  • Our Beyond MOA Guarantee is ultimately your satisfaction. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your rifles performance, we will send you an RMA form, shipping label, and field test the rifle ourselves, because that is nothing short of the Glen Seekins standard. If the rifle carries a defect, we will repair the rifle or replace it.

A couple of things to try/check:

-Confirm stock is properly torqued
-Confirm scope rings are properly torqued (to both the rail and the scope)
-Try it without the suppressor maybe
-Try some different boxes of ammo
-Try a different scope, could be a scope issue. What scope is currently on the rifle?
-Are you shooting prone, from a stable setup with rear support?
-Are you sensitive to recoil? Some people are and that can affect how well they shoot magnums.
-If all of the above are accounted for and youre still having issues, I would send it back to Seekins. They will absolutely make it right.

Good luck!

I have found in several rifles now that if a gun doesn't like the eld x it likely will the eld m or vise versa. Not sure why but three rifles now have shot one or the other noticeably better in three different calibers.

After confirming rings, bases, action screws, etc are torqued to spec - I’d try different ammo. One single factory load isn’t a great measure of its potential. I get it - it’s expensive, but I’d try other ammo before reaching out to Seekins.

What kind of groups are you getting?

Anywhere from 1.5-1.75” at 100. I have shot smaller groups but there always seems to be one outlier. Definitely should be happy, but just over critical of myself. I think the gun heats up so quick and deviates by round 3. This is shooting with lead sled and off bipod with rear bag. I’ve check all my torque specs after every outing and that’s been good. Probably just need to try the ELDM’s and see how they fly. Some people might be critical of using a match bullet on elk, but it appears many do. So I might have to try them just to see if accuracy improves.

I went through the same thing with a Christensen 22” 300PRC with a can. This rifle is lighter than I have been using and is way less forgiving as far as how you hold the rifle and trigger pull. (I did the ammo change, scope change, torquing and bedding)
I let my son shoot it and he shot a one hole group.
I lightened the trigger as much as it goes and concentrated on hold and trigger pull and now I can shoot it well.

1.5”-1.75” is garbage.

Are you capable of shooting a .5” 3 shot group or a sub moa 5 shot group? Why are you using a lead sled? Is there someone else that you can ask to shoot it?
