Looking for my first custom rifle cartridge. Currently own a 308 that I use for everything but would like something with more power at longer ranges. I don’t reload so good factory ammo is a must hence why I am considering the PRCs. For those that have shot them, how’s the recoil like on the 300? Rifle I am looking at is around 10lb ready to hunt. Any input is appreciated thanks.

with a 10 pound rifle recoil wont be bad at all....I have 300mags but I really like my new 7prc. You are not gaining much with the 300prc....better only if you need to shoot heavies over 208gr

If you've never shot an un-suppressed 300 PRC (or for that matter a 300 Win Mag ) and are recoil sensitive do yourself a favor and shoot one or at least stand next to someone shooting one at your local range. It'll be a an eye opener recoil-wise compared to a 308. I think a Browning X-Bolt 2 in 7 PRC is in my near future and will retire my 7 Rem Mag.
