My go-to chambering was .25-06 loaded with 117gr Gamekings for a long time, but I ended up switching over to 6.5 Creedmoor for the extra weight and better bullet selection. When I decided to go suppressed, I considered the 270 WSM in a 20” tube, but ended up going 6.5 PRC instead. In the short barrel, I still get velocities a little better than the Creedmoor, so terminal performance is still perfect for Texas whitetail and hog and nothing changed with the ballistics. Seems like the real question is not which chambering works best, but how badly do you want to buy that new rifle?
