.270 WSM 130gr copper extreme point for cow elk?

So due to the obvious ammo shortages, plus the fact that i recently moved and all of my reloading stuff is in boxes, I have been scrambling to locate ammo for my upcoming cow elk hunt in Colorado in October. After months of calling all the shops i scored 3 boxes of the 100% copper extreme points from Winchester. It’s marketed as a deer round so I’m sure the tip is “too soft” for elk. But being 100% copper should give me enough retained weight to punch a little deeper right? Again, Cow elk, nothing on the cover of sports afield. Anyone shoot these?

An all coper bullet designed for more upset isn't a bad idea

If a 130gr core loct will kill an elk, those will be just fine.

If those 130 copper bullets shoot good out of your rifle, I wouldn't think twice about pulling the trigger on a cow elk.

I have been trying to find them for my .270 win and 6.5 cm. I think a fast expanding mono bullet is perfect for elk. Just need to find them and then find an elk

Go for it. The one 270/130 GMX I recovered from a cow elk only retained 129.6 grains...............

Worry more about them shooting well than killing elk. They will work just fine if you can put them in the right place.

That is definitely the other worry. The rifle shoots well, but all i have ever fed it was factory loads of Winchester ballistic silver tips.
