My brother wants to sell his Weatherby Vanguard in .257 wby. He’s not a handloader and finding ammo (and paying for it) is a challenge. I believe it’s the Backcountry model. Has the B&C stock and has the fluted barrel that is Cerakoted. Was bought in 2015 iirc and has less than 2-250 shots through it. Has a Vortex LHT 3-15x42 1” scope on it in steel Talleys. All in great shape and shoots multiple factory ammo types into sub 1”. What should he ask?

The back country was about 1200.00 when they were new. Probably one of the better versions of the vanguard they ever released.

The backcountry is a great rifle; I hunt with a wilderness which is the same but blued. It is worth more, but I can't imagine someone paying over $700 for the bare rifle. That might take a while too.
