Curious if anybody has reloaded the 101 grain barnes lrx in a 25-06 and if so what results you’re getting on paper and game. Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing. I have a killer load with 100gr Barnes TSX, and these look interesting to play with.

I like LRX/TTSX, but also like Etips. I'm curious what people think they are getting with this bullet that they weren't already with the 100gr etip?

I have been using the 100gr TTSX in a .257wby for just about everything in MT with entirely satisfactory results. Not sure what the LRX gets you in reality - but hey, I'm game to try! If they really are softer (haven't noticed in the 127gr .264...) then it could be a great option for .257Bob??

I'll see if I can find out what Barnes believes is the min. velocity.

I know it’s off the OP but I’ll put a shameless plug in for Hammer Bullets! Look at the 25 cal offerings from 67g to 128g

They make a huge range of bullets in all calibers, and will even custom make one if they don’t have what you want. Have had great accuracy and excellent performance on game

Got a response from Barnes today.

"
.257” 101 gr LRX = 1900 fps minimum for expansion

.257” 100 gr TTSX = 1900 fps

Thank You

Not the lrx but the 100 grain ttsx out of a 257wby. Muzzle velocity was mid to upper 3500’s if memory serves correctly.
These were pulled out of a 225ish pound boar after they impacted him at 190 and 205 yards, which is which I cannot tell you. They were both pass throughs that were found under the boars cartilage plates on his shoulders.

Would anyone have some pictures of 25 cal lrx bullets moving around the same speed they can post up that were recovered from an animal?

The bullet on the left weighed in at 70.5 and the bullet on the right weighed in at 72.0.

Yo! I have not checked velocity but 49.5 grains of aa4350 at factory spec length had me checking if I was hitting same hole or getting a wierd 2 ft away flyer. I definitely was hitting dang near the same hole. I wacked a 4pt whitetail with the lrx. It was maybe a 30 yard shot. Maybe 30. It went it between neck and shoulder (think tree stand, well tree house actually) and got caught in the hide behind ribs in the off side. It sheared the bone like a razor, and the deer didn't move more than a quick jump, flop and dead. Now, there was a lot more bloodshot meat than I would've liked but you take the shot presented to you i suppose.
