It’s very doable but it’s tough. Most people overestimate their ability/underestimate the difficulty. A big factor is how full the creeks are. There are creeks that weave all throughout the tundra and when I was up there this fall many people considered many of them impassible.

It was not bad. If you can do a pack-in elk hunt you can walk in the 5 no issue. However if you try to pack out a bou and all your gear at once, that may be a different story. I did walk/hike before the trip, I tried to prep myself.

From Norway here. Took 2 reindeer this year. Lightweight gear makes a huge difference when you’ve got to pack the meat down from the mountains.
