The pack out was super tough with the deadfall. Hands and knees under and straddling over trees with a 120lb pack was difficult hahah

Awesome video! Mountain goat country is incredible. I was able to join my friend on his mountain goat hunt this year, his second and my first. So badly, I want to do another! It left me thirsty for more. Congrats on the exceptional goat!

I was shooting 175gr ELD-X from a 280ai.

I have shot wolves, whitetail, mule deer, moose, elk and bear with ELD-X and all were one shot kills. This goat would have died from the first shot to I believe but I was always told to keep shooting till they are down. I actually shot this goat 5 times, the 4th was through both shoulders and he got back up after 15 seconds and started to go down the hill and I shot him one more time. I removed that part of the video because it’s pretty brutal and I had some bad backlash right away. Mountain goats are tough ass animals.

It was just over 200. He was dead on his feet after the first shot. If I could do it again I would have let him bed and pass.
