I’ve had this buck on camera for a couple years and am pretty sure he’s 7. I had scale problems, but he weighed between 275 and 280 (live weight). I killed him on Wednesday morning which was the new moon, and this makes at least 6 bucks I’ve taken on new moons over the years. This one isn’t as big as last years, but that one will probably be the buck of my lifetime. I’m still proud of this one.

You kill some good ones every year. Congrats on another great buck. Hopefully I can at least get my son on one next week.

Well done! I prefer hunting with a new moon, especially during the rut. On bright full moon nights it seems they run all night long and get to their beds long before you are in a stand. My trail cams have proven this out many times over the years. On new moons they seem to move later IME.

Congrats a cool buck with beautiful stained rack
