Yea, entry is on the other side. For some reason I am not getting exit holes. Shooting 7mm Rem Mag, with 175 gr Nosler Partition, 63 grains 4350. This buck had an entry hole behind shoulder, then the bullet blew up the heart and smashed into other shoulder... If I can remember correctly.
Nice Buck! Bullets do strange things sometimes. I shot a buck on the run broadside through the timber in Montana, hit him right behind the shoulder (280 rem), dropped him like a bag of potatoes but when I got up to him I could barely find an entrance and no exit. When I skinned him the bullet went in behind the shoulder, hit the ribs (broke one) and then went up through his neck. I chalked it up to the bullet maybe hitting a branch and coming off axis but who knows. It was the cleanest gut job I've ever had.
Very cool Clarktar! I saw the coolest blacktail ever last year during elk archery in your neck of the woods. His left side was multi forked but I never could count how many because his right side had me hypnotized. His right side was a massive jumble of non typical amazing goodness. My buddies who were with me couldn't believe it. We saw him briefly before he drifted off into the thick stuff.
Ok Wonky, spill the beans. Where were you when you saw him
I have seen two great bucks this year that I wish I could have tagged. One massive 2 point, and I mean massive, the bases were as thick as my wrists, and he was really wide. Would have filled me 2 point dreams!
