180gr jacketed soft point??

Anything wrong with using the Federal jacketed soft point in 180 grain for elk at less than 300 yards in 300 win mag?

I say lock and load. I killed and elk a few years ago with the same bullet in a .300 WSM. Did the job just fine.

I killed a bull at 325 using a 30-06 and 180 gr Sierra Gamekings. Worked just fine. I think Nosler Accubonds are perhaps a better choice than the GKs, but lots of big game has been taken for decades with cup and core bullets designed for game.
