115 Dtac Nosering Success

Little late to the 6XC game. But decided to have a 22" 1:7.5 twist barrel made for hunting with DTACS. Lets hear some load data plus success rates with the nosering bullets!

I'll be hunting with deep cut ones in my 6 UM this fall, I'll probably add to the 6 UM thread once I have some results.

Welcome to the 6XC game. I think you'll be pleased with her and the 7.5 twist and 115 DTAC's should work well. Like most 6 XC shooter's I've found that H4350 works well I'd start with 37 gr. I've also had great success and a little more speed with H 4831SC and I'd start with 38 grains. Reloader 17 is also good if you have it but it's tough to find today. I've shot 115 DTAC's for years but I am not aware of them being used for hunting. Very accurate and have had great success @ 1000 yds in my F Class rifle. Don't know about hunting. I shoot 115 VLD's in my hunting 6 XC rifle.

I have built 5- 6 XC's and I only shoot H 4831SC in my F class rifle shooting 115 DTAC's . It.s most accurate and lowest ES in that rifle, H-4350 is the go to powder in my other 6 XC's

Anyone looking for Dtacs?
I recently bought two boxes of the 115gr Dtacs TBN coated with the nose ring grove. Tried about 25 out of one box and my 243AI just really doesn’t like them. (Originallly paid a few bucks under $400 with shipping and tax)
