Going to try my first go at pistol reloading.

Glock 29
6” storm lake barrel
Bluedot
Cci LPP
starling 1x fired
Extreme 180gr and Hornady xtp bullets

I BELIEVE the storm lake can handle a little more pressure than the stock Glock barrel but I just want plinking stuff. I don’t want to load to 40 but don’t need them hot either.

Was planning on sticking around 10-10.3gr of gold dot with a oal of 1.260”.

Any advice, input, etc would be welcome!

Thanks!

I run Blue Dot with 180 gr cast for my 10's. 9.5 gr. works pretty good for plinking rounds. You should be good in the range you posted- Alliant shows 11 gr. max for jacketed bullets.

Have you chrono’d them and if so what length barrel? I have a stiff spring and I’m worried about going too low in recoil.

Easy peasy…I hope.

OAL is one of the more important aspects to make good cycling ammo. With 200 grain hardcast I run 1.24” can’t remember what I have run with 180 XTPs if you happen to have some factory measuring OAL would be a good starting point. Each different bullet shape might require a different OAL to function. There is quite a bit of info out there with a google search. I can do some digging for my load data if you get stuck
